Calcium Carbonate Process

Calcium carbonate is a kind of inorganic compound and is a main component of calcareous rocks(limestones) and calcite.

The use of calcium carbonate

calcium carbonate processCalcium carbonate is widely used for papermaking, plastic, plastic film, chemical fiber, rubber, adhesives, sealants, daily chemical, cosmetics, building material, coating, paint, ink, putty, sealing wax, felt layer packaging, medicine and food (such as chewing gum, chocolate) and feed, etc.

Calcium carbonate classification

According to the different method of calcium carbonate production, the calcium carbonate can be classified as heavy calcium carbonate, light calcium carbonate, colloid calcium carbonate and crystal calcium carbonate.

1.Through mechanical methods(Raymond mill or other high pressure mill), heavy calcium carbonate can be produced from the crushed calcite, limestone, chalk and shells, etc.

2. Light calcium carbonate is also called precipitated calcium carbonate or light calcium. Its produce processing is that: through calcination, the raw materials such as lime stone transform into lime(main composition is CaO) and carbon dioxide. Then by digestion with water, the lime transforms into lime cream(main composition is calcium hydroxide). With carbon dioxide added, the lime creams carbonized so that the calcium carbonate precipitation is got. Then through dehydration, drying and crush, the light calcium carbonate is produced.

3.The process flow of colloid calcium carbonate(activation calcium carbonate): Firstly, the lime stone is roasted in a high temperature. Then through water digestion, filter sieving, carbonization, surface treatment, drying and crush, the colloid calcium carbonate products are got.

4. Crystal calcium carbonate: calcium chloride will be formed through the calcium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid reaction. Then through carbonization with carbon dioxide, the calcium chloride transforms into calcium carbonate. At last, the crystal calcium carbonates will be got after crystallization, separation, washing, dehydration, drying and screening.

Calcium carbonate production line

1. Crushing stage: The Jaw Crusher or Hammer Crusher are often used as primary crushing equipment.

2. Superfine grinding: If the size of required final product is 30mm, it is better to use Raymond mill and swing mill to reach the best economic effect. If the size is 5~25mm, the ball mill is better.

3. Chemical Precipitation: PCC is the calcium carbonate precipitation, which size can reach 1mm or even 300~100nm.

4. Surface treatment: According to the final use of product, we can choose surface treatment or other treatment.

5. Grading: Our ZENITH Machinery can provide various types of high performance grade machine, such as turbine series, side wind grade machine, elbow type grade machine and horizontal type centrifugal grade machine.

The use of calcium carbonate super fine powder

In the power station, the super fine powder can be used for waste gas treatment. As a kind of filling agent, the powder can be used in many areas, such as rubber, coating, plastic, paper, chemical fertilizer, feed, food, chemical industry, medicine and cosmetics.
